United Join City And Spurs In Race To Secure Bargain Deal For Champions League Winner

Manchester United will compete with the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham, Barcelona and AC Milan for the signature of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, according to reports in England.

The Denmark international’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the season but a dispute between the player and the Blues has raised doubts over whether he will sign an extension.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has admitted that he recently left Christensen out of the starting eleven because of his contract situation and discussions have yet to reach a successful conclusion.

Foreign clubs such as Barca and Milan will have an advantage in the sense that they will be able to formally talk with the player as early as next month.

However, if Christensen does have his heart set on staying in England, the Champions League winner could hold out until the summer and discuss terms then, with United likely to be a leading contender to secure his services.
