Manchester United have added Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard to their list of transfer targets, according to reports in the French media.

The France international, who won the World Cup in 2018, has been made available for transfer following the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt at the Allianz Arena.

Sky Germany confirmed at the start of the month that Chelsea were interested in Pavard, but United have now also entered the fray, along with Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is thought to be keen on signing a right-back and Pavard is able to fill that role, as well as being a very capable centre-half.

The 26-year-old has less than two years remaining on his contract at Bayern and it is believed that the Bundesliga champions may be prepared to let the player go if they receive an offer in the region of €35m (£30m) this summer.
