Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount won’t be ready to face Wolves on Thursday night, according to manager Erik ten Hag.
The £60m summer signing from Chelsea has not played since November due to a calf problem, and the fixture at Molineux will be the 19th game this season he hasn’t been available for.
Fans on X have been questioning why Mount was bought by the club, although some still feel that the midfielder will end up being a good addition to the squad:

United buying Mount in the first place is unfortunate.

Fortune has not been on Mount’s side
It should be pointed out that the England international rarely missed a game during his time at Chelsea. He did have an issue with his pelvis at the end of last season but, other than that, his fitness record was spotless.
Mount’s injuries since arriving at Old Trafford could not have been anticipated and the midfielder has simply been lucky.
There is time for him to turn his United career around
After having picked up a muscular injury at the start of the season, Mount’s first year with the Red Devils has been, pretty much, a write-off.
The 25-year-old is still, though, a very talented player and supporters would be wise to give him a chance to show what he can do in a United shirt.
