Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has returned to training ahead of this weekend’s game against Sheffield United.
The Brazilian is currently on international duty, but he was forced off with an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw against Venezuela last week. It looks like he will be in contention to play for his country against Uruguay later tonight ahead of his return to club action.
Fans on X are happy that Casemiro is fit, although some are hoping that he doesn’t play this evening so he can rest up ahead of United’s trip to Bramall Lane:

United’s injury woes have been eased somewhat
The fact that Casemiro is likely to be in contention for Saturday will come as a tremendous relief for manager Erik ten Hag, who already has 8 other players on the treatment table.
However, in addition to the Brazilian’s availability, it is believed that Raphael Varane (knock) and Sergio Reguilon (hamstring) are also back in contention, which will help to reduce the size of the injury list.
Casemiro’s form remains a concern
Although ten Hag will be happy to have someone of Casemiro’s ability and experience back available, his performances this season have been below par.
With Sofyan Amrabat and Scott McTominay also competing for places in the middle of the pitch, Casemiro will have to up his game soon in order to keep his position in the starting lineup.
