Latest United Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount And 3 Others

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has hinted that Lisandro Martinez has suffered a serious knee injury.

The Argentinian international was forced off midway through the second half of the 3-0 win over West Ham at the weekend. After the game, ten Hag said:

“I can’t say [how serious] but it doesn’t look good. There is a bad concern. We have to wait for a few days for the diagnosis. We do everything to get the right diagnosis and see what is the damage.”

“He is very sad, very disappointed. We all feel really with him. First of all, it is a personal disaster when it is really bad, but also for the team, it is really bad because he definitely brings us a lot.”

Martinez will undergo an assessment in the next few days to determine how long he could be sidelined for.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was close to making the matchday squad for the victory against the Hammers. In the build-up to the game, ten Hag said that the fullback was suffering with a leg injury and, while Sunday’s game came a bit too early, he could be available for selection soon.

It is expected that the 26-year-old will be named on the substitutes bench for United next’s fixture this weekend.
