United Have Surprise Premier League Rivals In Battle To Land French Midfield Ace

Everton have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports in the French media.

The Toffees are said to have opened contract negotiations with the 24-year-old, whose current deal at PSG expires at the end of this month.

United have reportedly offered a contract worth £8.9m a year to Rabiot in order to persuade the Frenchman to move to Old Trafford.

However, it is believed that the midfielder would have preferred a switch to Liverpool but the Merseyside club are not said to be interested in the midfielder.

Barcelona were reportedly put off by Rabiot’s contract demands while the player has also turned down a move to Tottenham.

The France international made 20 appearances for PSG last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists, but he hasn’t played a first-team game for six months after being frozen out by the French club.
