United Have ‘Entered’ The Battle To Sign Chelsea Winger Who Has Been In Talks With Serie A Giants

Manchester United have “entered” the race to snap up Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.

The Italian website cites “growing British rumours” that manager Erik ten Hag “wants” to be reunited with his former player, who thrived during his time at Ajax.

Chelsea are said to be keen to offload Ziyech, with head coach Thomas Tuchel not seeing the forward as a key part of his plans for the new season.

The Moroccan international has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A champions AC Milan in recent weeks, and negotiations over a season-long loan are believed to have taken place.

It’s likely that the Blues would only sanction a permanent sale if United did formalise their interest, though, but Ziyech would certainly strengthen a position that is badly in need of reinforcements.

The Red Devils don’t have many options for the right flank (although Jadon Sancho has looked good there in preseason) so the interest in Ziyech does seem to make quite a lot of sense.
