United Have Already Lined Up 147 Goal Forward As Ronaldo’s Replacement And He Won’t Cost A Penny

Manchester United are looking to re-sign Memphis Depay almost six years after he left Old Trafford, according to reports in the Catalan media.

With the Red Devils having confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure on Tuesday, they have already earmarked Depay as his replacement.

Barcelona are expected to make him available on a free transfer in January as they are keen to get the Netherlands international’s salary off the wage bill.

Depay did struggle during his first spell in Manchester but he has subsequently performed well at both Lyon and Barca.

The Dutchman has racked up 147 goals in his senior career, and he would be a decent short term solution to make up for the loss of Ronaldo.

Arsenal and Chelsea have also been mentioned as potential suitors for Depay so United appear to be making an early move for the 28-year-old in order to secure his services before the transfer window reopens.
