Manchester United have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has left the club by mutual consent.
The club thanked the Portuguese legend for his “immense contribution” over two spells at Old Traford but his departure had been inevitable following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan last week.
Reacting to the announcement on Twitter, supporters were disappointed with how Ronaldo’s time at the club came to an end but they feel it was the right decision for all involved:

There was no way back for Ronaldo after he criticised manager Erik ten Hag and the club. It will, though, be interesting to see where he ends up.
A move to MLS has been suggested, while clubs in the Middle East would also be able to finance a deal. However, Ronaldo may be keen on remaining in Europe. A return to Real Madrid has already been ruled out but he could yet stay in England, with Chelsea a possible destination.
