Borussia Dortmund’s refusal to budge on their €120m (£111m) valuation of Jadon Sancho means the Red Devils have begun looking at alternative options and Perisic is one of three names, along with Gareth Bale and Juventus’s Douglas Costa, currently being considered.
The 31-year-old spent last season out on loan at Bayern Munich but he could be available for a modest fee with Inter looking to sell him in order to free up funds to make their own signings.
Perisic has been on United’s radar for a number of years with the club having tried to snap up the Croatian international from Inter three years ago befoe opting against paying the winger’s asking price.
It’s likely that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking at potential short-term solutions before United go all out for Sancho next summer.
