Manchester United are among the teams interested in signing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, according to reports in the UK.

The American, who has been capped 34 times by his country, is said to be on the Red Devils’ radar but they will face competition for the player’s signature.

Premier League rivals Chelsea, Tottenham and Leeds are also keeping tabs on McKennie, along with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Although United did shell out £70m on Casemiro in the summer, the midfield is still seen as a weak link. Fred has not impressed Erik ten Hag since the Dutchman’s arrival at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian has only made three starts in the league and it could be the case that McKennie is being eyed as a potential replacement. The 24-year-old is known for his energy and ability to press which would certainly make him better suited to ten Hag’s style of play.
