United And PL Rivals Could Find It Even Harder To Sign 100M Rated South American Star Following Contract Development

Brighton are expected to offer midfielder Moises Caicedo a new contract in order to ward off interest from other clubs, according to reports in the English media.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been keeping tabs on the Ecuadorian international, who has been a key figure in the Seagulls’ strong start to the season.

Last month, it was reported that Liverpool were the ones closest to making an offer of around €50m (£42m) for Caicedo, but that figure was then derided as too low by his manager Graham Potter.

At the time, Potter (who has since been appointed Chelsea’s new coach) claimed that Brighton may only consider proposals for the 20-year-old if a bid reached £100m.

If Caicedo does put pen to paper on an extension, it would put the Seagulls in an even stronger position to keep the midfielder, so he may not be leaving the Amex any time soon.
