United And City Targeting ‘New Ibrahimovic’ With 76M Release Clause

Manchester United and Manchester City are both interested in Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The Swedish international has been compared to fellow countryman Zlatan Ibrahimovic in some sections of the media and, at 22 years of age, many believe he has a big future in the game.

Isak was a standout performer for Sweden at the European Championships last summer, leading to rumours about a potential move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all linked at the time.

The forward ended speculation about his future by signing a new five-year contract with Real Sociedad back in July, although a €90m (£76m) release clause was included in the deal.

Whether either United and City would be tempted to pay that much for Isak at the moment, it is doubtful. The Swede has failed to score in his first six league matches this campaign.
