REPORT: United ‘Closely’ Monitoring “Next Zlatan” Who Could Cost £17m

Manchester United are “closely” following Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak, according to TodoFichajes.com. The Spanish website claims the Red Devils are looking at “several” possible options as they seek to find a new striker for next season.

Isak has been labelled the “next Zlatan” by some sections of the media after being widely tipped to become a big star while coming through the youth ranks in his native Sweden.

However, after making his first big move to Borussia Dortmund, things didn’t quite go to plan, and he left the German club after two and half years to join Sociedad for €6.5m in the summer.

Isak has really hit the ground running since arriving in Spain, scoring 11 goals and providing one assist in 26 appearances so far this season. He plays as an out and out striker, and at 20 years of age, he has scope to improve his game even further.

Real Sociedad are reportedly looking for at least €20m (£17m) for the Swedish international and it will be interesting to see if United do make a move for him in the summer.
