United Among Three Teams Battling To Sign £30m Rated England U21 Star

Manchester United are now involved in a three-club battle for Burnley winger Dwight McNeil, according to the Daily Mail. Crystal Palace have joined the Red Devils and Everton in pursuing the 20-year-old, who could be available for £30m.

The Eagles are said to be the likeliest at this stage to make a formal offer for the player, with Roy Hodgson’s side hoping that the guarantee of first-team football will be enough to persuade him to snub a move to Old Trafford or Goodison Park.

United were first linked with McNeil back in November and scouts are believed to have continued monitoring the England Under 21 international’s progress throughout the season.

Whether manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would need another left-winger, considering both Marcus Rashford and Daniel James can play in that position, it is up for debate.

The Red Devils are said to be far more likely to invest in a player who can play on the opposite flank, such as Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
