United Weigh Up Move For £35m Rated Winger Following Scouting Mission

Manchester United are interested in Burnley winger Dwight McNeil, according to the Sun. The 19-year-old was reportedly scouted by the Red Devils when the Clarets lost 4-2 to Burnley last month.

The England Under 21 international actually came through the academy at United but was let go at 14 after failing to make the grade at Carrington.

However, McNeil rebuilt his career after being picked up by Burnley. He made his first-team debut against Aberdeen in a Europa League qualifier at the start of last season and actually made his first league appearance against the Red Devils in a 2-0 defeat back in September 2018.

The teenager established himself as a regular starter in the second half of last season and has been a regular fixture in Sean Dyche’s side this campaign.

McNeil would have impressed United scouts as he scored in the defeat to Chelsea. Burnley are believed to value the player at around £35m.
