United ‘Almost On Pole’ To Sign £61.5M World Cup Winner But They Must See Off 2 PL Rivals To Seal Transfer

Manchester United are “almost on pole” to snap up Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, according to AS.

The Madrid-based publication claims that the Red Devils are one of three Premier League clubs keen on securing the services of the Argentinian international this summer.

Liverpool and Newcastle are also said to be in the mix, with Mac Allister poised to leave the Seagulls at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old’s reputation has skyrocketed since he helped his country win the World Cup last year, and the midfielder won’t be available on the cheap.

AS report that Brighton expect to sell Mac Allister for around €70m (£61.5m), which could take up a sizeable portion of United’s transfer budget if recent rumours are to be believed.

With manager Erik ten Hag having prioritised a move for a new stiker, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will push ahead with a move for Mac Allister as well.
