Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw put in a top-drawer performance as the Red Devils played out a goalless draw in the derby last night.
It wasn’t the best game to watch, by any stretch of the imagination, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side did bounce back from their disappointing loss to RB Leipzig during the week by putting in a good defensive display.
Shaw was probably the standout of all the defenders on the pitch, having kept both Riyad Mahrez and Ferran Torres quiet for the 90 minutes, and fans on Twitter thought the 25-year-old deserved to be singled out for his contributions:
Underrated, don’t know why he’s so hated

The fullback not only impressed defensively but he also delivered a number of good deliveries from corners, which looked to be the best chance of United scoring on the day.
Shaw knows he needs to stay on top of his game now he has competition from Alex Telles so it will be interesting to see whether he can keep up this level.
