Two Clubs Enter The Running To Sign United Star Who “Wishes To Leave The Club”

Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain are contenders to sign Manchester United striker Anthony Martial during the January transfer window, according to reports in the French media.

The two clubs have been interested in the 26-year-old during previous transfer windows. PSG have considered him as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe while Lyon are also keen, despite knowing that the finances of the deal could make it difficult to complete.

Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley has spoken out publicly in recent days to make it clear that the player will press for a move away from Old Trafford next month, in order to get more game time:

“Anthony wishes to leave the club in January. He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.”

The likes of Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle have been linked in the English press, although those reports were very speculative. It does appear that a switch back to France either on loan or on a permanent basis is the likeliest outcome at the moment.

Martial has made just two starts in the Premier League this campaign, although he has been sidelined with a knee injury since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick.
