The Top Ten Players Who Earn The Highest Weekly Wage In The Premier League

Salaries in football have reached epic proportions over the last ten years, and the financial muscle of Premier League teams means they can pay their players more than most.

It appears that if you are earning below £100,000 a week in the English top-flight you are among the least well paid.

Things could get even crazier in the coming years, with Erling Haaland’s agents seemingly trying to make him the first £1m a week player. Whether that happens, we shall see, but players in this country are not far off earning those types of numbers now.

Press the next page as we name the ten stars who are getting the highest wages in English football.

=9) Paul Pogba – £290,000 a week

The Frenchman signed his lucrative contract five years ago after returning from Juventus. An extension to his current deal doesn’t seem likely at the moment.

=9) N’Golo Kante – £290,000 a week

Kante was rewarded for his excellent performances with a big pay rise in 2018 and, with two years remaining on his contract, there is talk that he will be given another extension.

=7) Raheem Sterling – £300,000 a week

The winger was the highest-paid English player in the country until this summer, and talks are underway to extend his contract that could see his weekly wage increase even further.

=7) Jack Grealish – £300,000 a week

It is believed that the British record signing has been given a similar deal to the one that Sterling is currently on. A big rise on what he was earning at Aston Villa.

6) Romelu Lukaku – £325,000 a week

Chelsea were prepared to pay top dollar to bring the former United forward back to the Premier League, and they haven’t cheaped out on his salary either.

5) Raphael Varane – £340,000 a week

The France international may have been brought in for a rather modest sum as he had under a year left on his contract at Real Madrid, but United have had to offer him a sizeable salary in order to bring him to Old Trafford.

4) Jadon Sancho – £350,000 a week

The 21-year-old is now reportedly the highest-paid English player after agreeing a substantial wage following his £73m move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

3) David De Gea – £375,000 a week

The goalkeeper has been on a huge salary since he signed a four-year contract back in 2019. His performances have, though, struggled to justify the investment.

2) Kevin De Bruyne – £400,000 a week

De Bruyne actually negotiated his new contract by himself after dropping his agent. It is believed the Belgian used analytics to demonstrate his importance to City in order to justify his salary.

1) Cristiano Ronaldo – £510,000 a week

The new top dog in terms of weekly wages in the Premier League is, unsurprisingly, the Portuguese legend, with United having agreed to a similar financial package to what he was earning at Juventus.
