Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho failed to show up as his side were thrashed by City at the Etihad yesterday afternoon.
He was certainly not the only poor performer but, considering his improved form at the start of this season, many expected better from him in the derby.
Sancho has struggled to justify the £72m that was spent on him fourteen months ago, and supporters on Twitter have singled him out for his anonymous performance against City:
He’s been so poor… the goals have been masking his performances

Agreed. Does little out of the ordinary

Sancho is the type of player you’d bring on when you’re 3 goals up! There’s just something off about his game

Sell in summer imo

Was so bad man. He’s struggling so much

This man gets £350 000, we need Dortmund level performances

He has been a bitter disappointment since he arrived.

He’s too lazy

Didn't even realize that he played.

Not only did he not present a threat going forward, Sancho failed to provide Tyrell Malacia with any protection on the defensive side either.
It was not a surprise when manager Erik ten Hag decided to substitute the 22-year-old for Fred with 20 minutes to go, having made no impact on the game whatsoever.
After lighting up the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, Sancho has shown only fleeting glimpses of his quality since joining United. Yesterday’s display was simply not good enough.
