“The Centre Half They Will All Be After” Souness Backs United To Make Move For £45m Rated Turkish Colossus

Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness is tipping Manchester United to make a bid for another Leicester centre-back when the transfer window opens.

After spending £80m on Harry Maguire last summer, Souness believes Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be looking for someone to partner the England international.

Following Soyuncu’s performances for the Foxes this campaign, he thinks there is no better option available who could help shore up United’s defence:

“I reckon Solskjaer is still going to be looking at it and questioning some people, asking himself: ‘Are they going to win me the Premier League or the Champions League?'”

“In terms of potential solutions, I like Caglar Soyuncu at Leicester City very much. The 24-year-old Turkey centre back is strong, quick and good on the ball but crucially also takes defending seriously.”

“It’s not all about passing it out from the back and how he looks on the ball for him. He’s the standout signing for me this summer, the centre half they will all be after.”

The Turkish international has been linked with Manchester City in recent months while his agent has spoken out to say that Liverpool would be the only team in England that the 24-year-old would consider leaving Leicester for.

Soyuncu is reportedly valued at around £45m by his club, but even at that price, Solskjaer may feel his transfer budget could be better spent on other areas of the pitch.

It is believed that United’s priority this summer will be to snap up a right-winger and an attacking midfielder, with Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish their top targets.
