Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw did hold talks with Leicester and Everton in the summer, but the player is looking to stay at Old Trafford, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.
It is believed that the Toffees, in particular, are still keen on recruiting the defender, with Talbot stating that United haven’t yet entered discussions over a contract extension:
Shaw wants a five-year deal. Hear that official talks have not begun yet – Man Utd remain concerned about his injury record. Also, the development of Tyrell Malacia could hamper starting place in the first XI under Erik ten Hag.

Shaw’s current deal expires at the end of the season, but the Manchester club do have an option to extend it for a further year, and fans on Twitter are rather suspicious about these transfer rumours:
That's his agent getting that story out there so the club will offer him a new deal nothing to see here

Hoping for contract extension , yet went ahead to have talks with Everton and Leicester City
Lack of self confidence and quality output playing out here

Give that man a new contract. I like his discipline, commitment, ball control, vision and attacking style. He gives the team a balance.Don't make a mistake and let him go. He is a Rolls Royce of the defenders.

I think it’s worth extending Shaws contract for now.
In a couple of seasons time we will have Alvaro Fernandez ready & Malacia will also hopefully be even better by that time.

One of our best players at the moment. Give him a new contract.

As some have pointed out, it appears Shaw’s entourage have been trying to pressure United into starting negotiations over a new contract. However, there is no need for the Manchester club to rush into a decision, considering the option they have for an additional twelve months.
Shaw needs to show with his performances on the pitch over the coming weeks and months that he is deserving of a long-term extension.
