Manchester United are interested in signing Reading forward Danny Loader, according to Sky Sports News. The Red Devils are said to be one of a number of clubs considering an offer for the 19-year-old.
Loader’s contract at the Madejski Stadium expires in June and his availability has come to the attention of United scouts who believe the player has a lot of potential. Supporters on Twitter are unsure whether a move for the player is a good idea:

Decent youth record, scored a hattrick against our U23's but has found the step up to senior football tricky. Can't see the sense with signing a young striker, need experience.

Sounds about right, don't know much about him, but knowing Woodward, he's allowed " leaks" about big name signings to boost profile before annual account announcements, now that done he'll go for a Freebie

The striker was close to signing for Wolves last summer and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are expected to return with another offer for the teenager.
Loader has not been a regular for Reading this season, having made just two starts in all competitions, and scoring no goals.
However, United have been looking to pick up young players who have the scope to develop their game. They snapped up Daniel James from Swansea back in June, and they are likely to be hoping to replicate that success by picking up another young talent.
