Manchester United are one of a number of English clubs keeping tabs on RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano, according to reports.
The likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea have also been linked with the 21-year-old, but it is now claimed that the Frenchman could be available for only €40m (£35m).
Supporters on Twitter think Upamecano would be well worth the outlay at that price:
That’s a bargain ?

We should be all over this. £35m for him will be the biggest bargain of the summer.

100% should be worth at least €60M.

Upamecano’s contract expires at the end of next season, and while he reportedly has a €60m (£52m) release clause, the current financial climate means it is unlikely any club will match that.
The France Under 21 international’s availability for a much lower fee will no doubt pique the interest of United, but it is believed that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already happy with the defenders currently at his disposal.
As well as Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe are also both in contention for starts, while Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo are all still at the club.
