Manchester United and Chelsea are both keeping tabs on Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard’s situation, according to reports in France.
It is believed that the Bundesliga club may be open to selling the 26-year-old this summer and, when asked about the player’s future, manager Julian Nagelsmann did not completely rule out a transfer:
“I would like him to stay […] But let’s wait and see what happens.”
Pavard can play as either a right-back or a centre-half so he would be someone who could strengthen Erik ten Hag’s options in multiple positions, but fans on Twitter are split on whether signing him would be a good idea:
Best news ever.. that would be a good move..

Just get Dumfries, never heard more about Pavard since the world cup. We don't want another flop

There have been some suggestions that Pavard could be available for as little as £30m so he wouldn’t exactly be an expensive purchase. However, if he is being considered as a fullback target, there are more attack-minded players out there.
Both Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries and Barcelona’s Sergino Dest have been mentioned as possible targets and they could be a better fit for what ten Hag is looking for.
