Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly had to be substituted just before half time after picking up a neck injury in the 1-0 win over Watford yesterday evening.
The Ivorian international has had a poor fitness record since arriving at Old Trafford but, after the game, the defender took to Twitter to calm fears that he could be out for a while:
Good job by the team to advance in the #FACup.
I am OK, it was just a knock. ?? pic.twitter.com/Ua8oQiV91k— Eric Bailly (@ericbailly24) January 9, 2021
Fans were relieved following Bailly’s injury update and they are hopeful that he’ll be fit to face Burnley and Liverpool in United’s upcoming league games:
Thank God we need you beast

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does have a few injury concerns heading into next week’s matches. He has confirmed that Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba all missed the victory over the Hornets due to fitness problems.
Combined with Bailly’s injury setback, Solskjaer may have some selection dilemmas to contend with if some of these players are sidelined for long periods. They travel to Turf Moor on Tuesday before they make the trip to Anfield next Sunday.
