Manchester United will be able to welcome back Jesse Lingard to the squad for the game against Southampton after he returned to full training this week. The forward has not played since the 3-0 win over Brighton in the Carabao Cup back in September.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does, though, have fitness doubts over the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka (ankle), Victor Lindelof (back) and Paul Pogba (ankle). Luke Shaw (hamstring) and Phil Jones (knee) remain sidelined.

Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has revealed that Nathan Redmond won’t be available for the match at St Mary’s on Sunday. The winger has picked up a minor hamstring problem and has been ruled out for the next 10 days.

In terms of other injuries, there are doubts over Mohamed Salisu and William Smallbone who need more time to regain match fitness, while Danny Ings is still sidelined with a knee issue.
