Southampton V Manchester United: Preview And Betting Odds

Manchester United will want to get back on track with a win this weekend after a disappointing home defeat to Crystal Palace last time out.

The loss was compounded by injuries to Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial with both doubtful for this weekend’s game against Southampton. Shaw could be out for a number of weeks with a hamstring problem with Martial more likely to feature.

United’s opponents on Saturday afternoon are coming off the back of two straight wins. However, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side struggled to overcome the ten men of Brighton last week, while the manager fielded a much-changed team that won 1-0 against Fulham in the Carabao Cup. They could also be without Nathan Redmond and Ryan Bertrand due to ankle injuries.

The Saints are, though, a difficult team to play at home, and they could have snatched a draw against Liverpool in their only game at St Mary’s so far this campaign.

At the bookies, United are 11/10 at Sky Bet to get the win while a draw is currently 5/2 with BetVictor. A victory for Southampton is 31/10 at Betfair.
