Solskjaer Makes Exciting Prediction About Amad Diallo After He Scores Brace In First Game

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says it won’t be long before we see January signing Amad Diallo making his first-team debut for the club.

The Ivorian was given a run-out for the Under 23s against Liverpool at the weekend and made an instant impact by scoring two goals in a 6-3 victory. Solskjaer says he is excited by the 18-year-old’s first game:

“Amad will open up defences, so I don’t think it’s gonna be too long before he’s involved in a matchday squad. We’re gonna give him the time to settle in.”

Solskjaer also waxed lyrical about another player who starred in the win. Joe Hugill got himself four goals and comparing the two players’ performances in that game, the United boss said he would even select the young striker above Diallo.

There are certainly some promising players coming through the Red Devils’ academy, but supporter’s eyes will be fixed firmly on when Diallo will make an appearance for the senior side.

Solskjaer is trying to keep expectations in check by saying the teenager needs time to settle in but, for £37m, you would hope that he isn’t far from being named on the bench for a first-team match.
