Manchester United’s dismal 1-1 draw against relegation strugglers Newcastle last night has raised questions about the club’s prospects of finishing in the top four.
The arrival of Ralf Rangnick as interim boss was supposed to inspire the Red Devils to kick on and finish the season strongly but there has been very little evidence of improvement in the early weeks of the German’s reign.
When asked whether they see United finishing in the Champions League places this season, the majority of supporters on Twitter were very pessimistic about their chances:
Simple as. NO!

Rangnick’s men are currently seven points off Arsenal in fourth but they do have two games in hand over the Gunners. You also have to consider the fact that Rangnick has barely had any time to work on the training pitch with his players.
The virus outbreak and the closure of Carrington would have been very disruptive for the new manager, and it will be hoped that, now the situation has improved, we’ll see better displays in the coming weeks and months.
