‘Rubbish’ ‘Ole Told Him That I Bet’ United Fans React As Ferdinand Reveals What He Knows About Pochettino Rumours

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand insists the club have not spoken to Mauricio Pochettino about potentially replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the hot seat at Old Trafford.

Reports in the local media last week suggested that the Red Devils had held initial discussions with the Argentine, but Ferdinand claims he has it on good authority that no one from United have been in contact with the former Tottenham manager:

“In the media, there’s been a bit of disrespect to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be honest. People touting about that Pochettino has been spoken to. I’ve got it from a really, really, really good source that there’s been no conversations and they wouldn’t disrespect Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in that manner. I feel like that should be addressed.”

Supporters on Twitter are a bit sceptical about the sources that Ferdinand has inside the club, with many hoping that he has been told incorrect information:

Of course, it could well be the case that United are using intermediaries to sound out Pochettino, rather than being in direct contact with him. If that was the case then Ferdinand’s claims would still be true.

Solskjaer is hanging onto his job by the skin of his teeth following United’s win against Everton before the international break but it is vital that the Norwegian puts a good run of form together from now until Christmas or he will be under massive pressure once again.
