The Five Favourites To Take Over From Solskjaer If United Opt To Change Manager

Following Manchester United’s third league defeat of the season against Arsenal last night, the pressure is growing on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Club legend Roy Keane has already predicted that the Norwegian could be sacked before the end of the campaign if the club’s fortunes don’t turn around. So, who would be in the running to take over at Old Trafford if Solskjaer was removed from his duties?

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is, unsurprisingly, the favourite at the bookmakers currently with Sky Bet pricing the Argentine at 8/13 odds-on to be given the hot seat if there is a change in manager.

Second on the list is ex-Juventus manager Max Allegri. The Italian has not been in management since he left the Serie A champions in the summer of 2019 and will likely be interested if the United job becomes available.

Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhuttl is a surprise candidate with the Austrian currently third favourite. The Saints have had a good start to the season, with the South Coast club currently sitting fourth in the table. Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel and RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann make up the rest of the top five.
