Roy Keane Delivers Verdict On Dean Henderson’s Chances Of Making It At United

Roy Keane says Dean Henderson has all the qualities as a goalkeeper to be a success at Manchester United.

Speaking after the 23-year-old started the 2-0 win over Manchester City at the weekend, Keane backed manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s comments that Henderson has the right character and attributes to be the club’s number one:

“The goalkeeper was excellent. Ole used the word ‘nice presence about him’ that’s what all the top goalkeepers have and I think this kid has got a great chance of being a brilliant goalkeeper for Man United.”

David De Gea is currently away in Spain on paternity leave, but Solskjaer has confirmed that the 30-year-old won’t be away from the squad for too long. It was reported in the local press that the Spaniard may only return next month but those claims were quickly shot down.

It will be interesting to see whether Henderson keeps his place in the side when De Gea is available again. The England international is, though, expected to be in the starting eleven when United face AC Milan in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie on Thursday.
