Romano Confirms United “Want To Sell” 21 Year Old After Turning Down Loan Approach

Manchester United have turned down a loan offer, with an option to buy, from AC Milan for fullback Diogo Dalot, according to the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims that the Red Devils rejected the approach for the Portuguese defender as they “want to sell” the 21-year-old before the transfer window closes on Monday:

Dalot has fallen out of favour under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Since signing from Porto for £19m two years ago, he has struggled with injuries but he has been fit since the turn of the year and has barely featured for the first team.

The right-back’s last appearance came in the FA Cup quarter-final against Norwich City back in June, and this season he has not made the matchday squad for the first two league games against Crystal Palace and Brighton.

Despite Solskjaer rotating his team for the Carabao Cup tie against Luton Town, Dalot remained an unused substitute for the match.
