Romano Confirms PL Clubs Are “Following” 43.7M Rated French Ace Amid United Links

Premier League and Serie A teams are “following” Rennes forward Martin Terrier, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Reports earlier this week claimed that Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle, Leicester, Aston Villa, Leeds and Wolves were all keeping tabs on the Frenchman and Romano has confirmed there is a lot of interest in the player:

“He’s doing fantastic, and so there are always scouts following him from English clubs and also Serie A clubs. Sources close to Rennes guarantee they’d ask for €45-50m for Terrier, but nothing is happening yet. I think he’ll have a fair few options, but it’s too early to say anything concrete on his future right now.”

Manager Erik ten Hag has admitted he needs more options up front, after deciding to deploy Harry Maguire as an emergency striker in the 1-0 win over Real Sociedad on Thursday night.

Terrier would certainly provide the extra firepower if he were to make the switch to Old Trafford. The 25-year-old has bagged 11 goals in all competitions this season, carrying on from where he left off last campaign, where he scored 21 times in Ligue One.

€50m (£43.7m) is a sizeable asking price, though, and with United said to be unlikely to spend big in January, it may be the case that Terrier will be considered as a target for next summer.
