‘They Are Miles Off’ Class Of ’92 Graduate Lambasts Current Manchester United Squad

Class of ’92 graduate Robbie Savage has effectively ruled Manchester United out of the title race in a scathing interview.

Instead, Savage believes that aiming for a spot in the top four would be more realistic, saying they have ‘absolutely no chance of winning the Premier League or the Champions League’.

This is in contrast to Savage’s predictions before the season began, where he ‘thought they could challenge for the title this time around’.

What did Robbie Savage say regarding Manchester United’s Premier League title chances?

Speaking to Planet Sport Bet, Savage said: “After only seven games, a place in the top-four looks the most realistic goal for Manchester United. That’s quite remarkable considering they finished third last season and I thought they could challenge for the title this time around.

“They are miles off that now and realistically they now have to be thinking about a top-four spot because they have absolutely no chance of winning the Premier League or the Champions League.

“Erik ten Hag needs time [to turn it around]. We all know it hasn’t been a good start and he needs to get his best players back fit and playing with confidence.

“He was one of the best coaches in the world last year and you can’t go from singing his praises to suggesting he doesn’t suit Manchester United. The players need to put the hours in on the training ground so they can buy into his plans, but that is going to take time and patience.”

Are Manchester United out of the title race?

With a record of three wins, four losses and zero draws from their seven Premier League games so far, it would take a monumental effort for United to get back into the title picture – let alone re-establishing themselves as legitimate contenders.

Even in their victories, the Red Devils have been unconvincing. Not only have they lacked creativity, they have also looked fragile at the back.

Combine this with several key players not performing at their best, such as Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, and it becomes very difficult to see how United can mount a title charge – even at this early stage in the campaign.
