Rio Ferdinand Claims There Is Still ONE Area Where Marcus Rashford Can Improve Despite Outstanding United Form

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes Marcus Rashford could become less predictable if he began coming short for the ball, rather than always running in behind defences.

The 25-year-old has been in outstanding form this season but Ferdinand feels that the forward would be even more dangerous if he mixes up his game:

“If I’m a defender sometimes I look at him and he can make it easy for defenders at some points in the game if he offered the threat in behind a bit more he’d get more joy to feet and become the threat in behind still. His decision making on whether to come long or short, if he gets that he becomes even more of a horrible player to play against.”

It’s an interesting point that Ferdinand makes but you would be reluctant to change anything in Rashford’s game at the moment, considering his outstanding performances.

The England international’s goal against Leeds at the weekend was his 21st of the campaign in all competitions; 16 more than he managed last year.

Considering Rashford’s best scoring season was the 22 he managed during 2019/20, he is on course to have his best ever campaign as a professional by quite some distance.

If he does add more to his game in the future, as Ferdinand suggests, who knows how good he could become?
