REPORT: Woodward And Solskjaer Held Talks With Agent As Club Close In On Key United Target

Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did travel to hold talks with Erling Haaland’s agent on Friday, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.

There had been claims that discussions had been held with the player himself, and although that doesn’t appear to be the case, it seems that negotiations are underway on some level.

Haaland’s team Red Bull Salzburg are said to be open to a sale in January, and it is believed United have been offered some encouragement in their initial talks.

Solskjaer has suggested that the 19-year-old has already made up his mind on his future, so whether his agent has told him of his intention to move to Old Trafford, we shall have to see.

Haaland is a player in high demand after an incredible first half of the season that has seen him score 28 goals. The Austrian league is now on a winter break so talks over a potential transfer could accelerate in the coming days and weeks.
