REPORT: United Reject Offer Worth £8.8m From Serie A Giants For Fullback

Manchester United have turned down a bid from Juventus for fullback Matteo Darmian, according to reports in Italy.

The Bianconeri offered to take the Italian international on loan, paying a €2m (£1.8m) fee up front, with the option of buying the player at the end of the season for €8m (£7m).

United are, however, holding out for a €4m (£3.5m) loan fee and want Juve to be obligated to buy Darmian in the summer.

The 29-year-old’s contract does expire at the end of the season, but the club do have the option to extend his stay for a further year.

The Red Devils would likely take up the extension if they agree a deal with Juventus, or another club, in order to make some money from the deal.

United reportedly paid Torino £12.7m for Darmian back in July 2015, and they are trying to recoup most of the fee they shelled out on the defender.
