REPORT: Striker Flew Out For Talks With Serie A Side But United Are Holding Out For £62m

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and his representative met officials from Inter Milan in Italy a few weeks ago, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper reports the Belgian is a top target for Antonio Conte and an outline agreement with the player has already been hashed out.

Inter have made enquiries for how much Lukaku will cost, and United have reportedly told them that the forward will cost €70m (£62m).

The Nerazzurri have tried to offer Ivan Perisic in exchange but, unlike his predecessor, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not want the Croatian international.

Mauro Icardi has also been suggested in a possible swap deal but United are believed to be insisting on a direct cash offer for Lukaku.

The Belgian international’s agent has previously revealed that he would like to play in Serie A, and it remains to be seen whether he’ll stay at Old Trafford this summer or move abroad.
