Sheikh Jassim’s entourage remain “confident” that they will win the battle to buy Manchester United, according to RMC Sport.

The French radio station claims that, despite reports in the English media suggesting rival Sir Jim Ratcliffe is the preferred bidder, Jassim “still believes” in his chances of completing the takeover.

While Ratcliffe is offering to buy a majority stake in the club, with an option for a complete buyout in three years’ time, Jassim’s proposal would see the Glazers being bought out straight away.

There have been rumours that Ratcliffe’s bid does value the club at a higher amount than the offer from Qatar, but some financial experts have claimed that a 100% takeover of the club could still be preferred by United’s owners.

For now, it is very much a waiting game to see what the Glazers decide but Sheikh Jassim and his bidding team seem hopeful that they will come out on top.
