Report Names FOUR Potential Replacements As Doubts Over Ronaldo’s Future At United Emerge

It was claimed over the weekend that Cristiano Ronaldo may consider leaving Manchester United for Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season and the Daily Express have offered up their assessment as to who could replace the Portuguese legend.

The newspaper has come up with four potential alternatives, including Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix and Chelsea’s Timo Werner.

Isak has also been linked with Arsenal, and his €90m (£76m) release clause means the Swedish international is a possible contender. His goal record isn’t much to write home about, though, so he may not be seen as the number one target.

Haaland, on the other hand, would be a perfect replacement for Ronaldo, but there have been reports that the Red Devils have pulled out of the race to sign the Norwegian. Whether that is true, we will find out in the summer.

Felix is an interesting case. The Portuguese international is thought to be unhappy at Atletico but he isn’t an out-and-out striker so he probably won’t be considered.

Werner has been suggested as a possible option, considering Ralf Rangnick is a fan of the German, but the striker’s failure to score goals on a regular basis in the Premier League would count against him.
