One of the agents representing Ajax winger Antony is “in Manchester for talks” according to the Daily Mail.

The Brazilian international is believed to be a top target for Manchester United and the arrival of his representative Junior Pedroso has sparked more speculation that a bid could be imminent.

Antony’s €80m (£68m) price tag is believed to be the main obstacle in negotiations and it could be the case that the Red Devils have decided to get personal terms out of the way first before heading back into discussions with Ajax over the fee.

Manager Erik ten Hag has made it clear that he wants to bring in a new forward before the transfer window closes next month so it looks as if United are keen to get this deal over the line.

Liverpool were mentioned as a potential rival for Antony’s signature in the Brazilian press earlier this week, while Chelsea have also been scouting the 22-year-old. However, Pedroso’s presence in Manchester suggests United are in pole position to secure his services.
