Rangnick Confirms There Are “Three Or Four” Teenagers Who Could Get Their Chance Against Chelsea

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has revealed that “three or four” young players could be included in the matchday squad for the game against Chelsea tonight.

The Red Devils have six players out injured at the moment, and the likes of Will Fish, Shola Shoretire, Alejandro Garnacho, Alvaro Fernandez and Hannibal Mejbri have all been training with the first-team this week. When asked if any of the youngsters could feature, Rangnick said:

“There will definitely be three or four as part of the squad and on the teamsheet but, again, it’s important to give those players a debut when it has to be the right moment for them. I don’t think I would do those players a favour if I brought them into not the right game or right moment. It should be a special moment for them but also the right moment for them, in order to perform.”

Out of those under consideration, Fish is probably the one that United fans know least about. The 19-year-old is a centre-back by trade, having been born in Manchester before coming through the youth ranks of the club.

Fish has already made his senior debut, getting a cameo appearance on the final day of last season as United won 2-1 against Wolves. He has also played two games for National League side Stockport during a loan spell earlier this campaign.
