Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Anthony Martial should be fit to play some part of the derby against Manchester City.
The Frenchman missed the 2-1 win over Tottenham on Wednesday night due to a knock, but when asked at his pre-match conference this morning if the striker could play at the Etihad, Solskjaer said:
“We hope to have Anthony definitely for part of the game. I’m not sure if he’s able to start.”
Fans on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the news, with some keen to see Martial back in the starting line up, while others would like to see Solskjaer keep faith with Mason Greenwood:
Quick recovery Martial! Looking forward to the game!

Should stick with Greenwood, He'll bring much more energy even if he's still learning his trades.

Martial need to work on his movements and positioning in the opposition box. He is always out of position, something he should learn from Greenwood, mybe.

Greenwood did compliment Marcus Rashford and Dan James in attack against Spurs, but Martial’s experience could see him given the nod if he is fit enough to start.
The 24-year-old has been inconsistent, but Rashford and Martial do link up very well when they are in form, and Solskjaer may hope they can do some damage to a weakened City defence tomorrow evening.
