“Preparing To Raise A Final Offer…” Journalist Claims There Could Be Yet Another Twist In United Takeover

Sheikh Jassim is “preparing to raise a final offer” for Manchester United that could reach £6 billion, according to Saudi Sports Media journalist Nawaf.

It has been suggested in recent days that rival Sir Jim Ratcliffe could end up being the preferred bidder but it appears that the Qatari investment group are not giving up just yet:

There have been some suggestions that the Raine Group, who are managing the bidding process, have made it known to certain media sources that Ratcliffe is the preferred bidder in order to prompt Sheikh Jassim into upping his bid.

If Nawaf’s reporting is accurate, it seems the ploy may have worked. Current United owners the Glazers have been hoping to get around £6 billion for the club from the onset of negotiations.

However, after three rounds of bidding, it seems the offers on the table haven’t met with their approval. This last-ditch proposal from Qatar could, though, bring talks to a successful conclusion.
