Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix’s preferred destination is Manchester United, according to Footballtransfers.com reporter Jacque Talbot.
The journalist, who has a rather mixed track record, says that Newcastle are also keen on the Portuguese international, but the player would favour a switch to Old Trafford:
Exc: Newcastle among the clubs interested in Joao Felix but the Atletico star’s preference is Manchester United. Eddie Howe wants to learn more about player’s personality + the uncertainty of UCL/wages remain a sticking point. For @Transfersdotcom https://t.co/hFS7z521Bs

United are said to be considering a move for Felix, along with Chelsea and Arsenal, and supporters on Twitter are delighted that the striker is keen on joining the club:

While Talbot says that United are Felix’s preferred team, it is believed that Paris Saint-Germain are the favourites to secure the 23-year-old’s services at the moment.
That is mostly down to the fact that PSG are the only club likely to match Atletico’s asking price, which is reportedly €100m (£86m). For United to be in the running for the player, manager Erik ten Hag would need more financial backing from the owners, and that is not likely to be forthcoming.
