Nizaar Kinsella Reveals Joao Felix’s Actual Asking Price As United, Chelsea And Arsenal All Weigh Up Bids

Manchester United will have to pay €100m (£86m) if they want to sign Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix during the January transfer window, according to the Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella.

A report in Spain yesterday suggested that Atletico would hold out for as much as €140m (£121m) but Kinsella says he will be available for a lower amount:

To be honest with you, it is still a very high valuation for someone who has failed to cut it in La Liga. Felix has only scored 24 goals and provided 14 assists in 94 league appearances since moving to Spain. United would expect a lot more from a signing that would come close to breaking their transfer record.

However, a couple of factors could help Atletico push up the price. Felix is performing well for Portugal at the World Cup and you do usually see players being sold at a premium off the back of a strong international tournament.

There is also believed to be competition from other teams for the 23-year-old’s signature. Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Benfica are also said to be weighing up moves for the striker next month.
