Owen Makes His Score Prediction As Manchester United Take On Sheffield United

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen is expecting a tight contest when the Red Devils travel to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United tomorrow night.

The Blades have only picked up one point from their opening twelve league matches and Owen says that, while the home side will look to take the game to United, he expects Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side to secure the three points:

“Things seem to be going from bad to worse for Sheffield United. They simply can’t buy a win at the moment. Being at home, I naturally see the Blades playing on the front foot here. If that materialises, it could play into United’s hands. I’ll be going for an away win and Manchester United to make it 10 wins on the bounce on the road.”

Owen has gone for a 1-0 win for the away side, which is a surprisingly conservative prediction. You could argue that Chris Wilder’s men have put in better performances than is shown in terms of the results they have picked up, but they have really struggled to get any points on the board this season.

United do have issues with inconsistency and while they are on an excellent run away from home, they have regularly conceded the first goal. Considering the Blades’ poor goalscoring record, though, you would think there is very little danger of that happening tomorrow.
